Young Eagles are free airplane flights for youth ages 8-17. Held on the second Saturday of every month, weather permitting, from 9:00am - 12:00pm, pre-registration is required at yeday.org.
On the first Saturday in May and the second Saturday in September from 7:00 - 11:00am, join us for our delicious pancake breakfast fundraiser! Enjoy pancakes, eggs scrambled and cooked to order, sausage and our famous homemade doughnuts while gazing at the airplanes that fly in. Kiddos will enjoy free crafts and activities.

Open to all ages this open-house format is set up to be a one-stop-shop for anyone interested in a career in aviation. Representatives from various careers including airport management, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance, airlines, cargo, corporate and military flying will be on hand to tell you about their jobs and answer your questions. Once you have a better idea of what career you want to pursue visit our training represenatives which include colleges, universities and flight schools to find out how to achieve your dream. Finally, make sure you stop at the scholarship table to learn about ways to help you pay for your training.

Held every year in June, the Midland Barstow Aviation Camp provides 16 young adults the opportunity to learn the basics of aviation. Camp is held from Monday - Friday from 10:00am - 4:30pm. During the week students will topics from aerodynamics to zulu time through classroom lectures and hands-on lessons. Daily speakers include an air traffic controller, military pilot, airline pilot, corporate pilot, mechanic and drone operator. A field trip to MBS includes a visit to the Fire Station, Control Tower and Dow's Corporate Hangar. The week winds down with the students planning a flight, which can be flown at an optional, special Young Eagles Day.
Camp is for students ages 15-18 and costs $95. Scholarships are available.

Every year Santa gives his reindeer a break and flies down to see the children of Midland!
While we await Santa's arrival kiddos can enjoy craft stations, including one where they write a letter which they then give to Santa after he lands.
December 1, 2024 Crafts begin at 12:00pm, Santa lands at 1:00pm.
